All students are welcome, including those who are completely new to Spanish, and those who have had a few classes.
Students are provided with vocabulary and sentence frames to successfully role play and participate in fun games. They will have several opportunities to speak and the repetition helps to seal the vocabulary.
The teaching style is gentle and encouraging. The instructor will rephrase students' responses in Spanish as a form of gentle correction. Research shows that the less stressed students are, the better they learn another language.
Students will learn greetings, numbers, the alphabet, the date, and learn to discuss weather, likes and dislikes, hobbies, etc. Teaching will be in Spanish, with lots of pictures, gestures and some English when necessary. Vocabulary and written notes will be given as homework. Classes take place in 4-week cycles, which are independent of each other and each teach new vocabulary).
