Program Description

Event Details

Grammar lays the groundwork for constructive communication, and the analytical study of grammar is the foundational “why” underlying the “how” of its practical usage. Using a systematic approach, each unit of the ZOOM Analytical Grammar curriculum effectively builds on the previous lessons without needless repetition. This 30-week grammar course for students in grades 6-8 through high school covers the following aspects of grammar:

  • All the parts of speech and parts of the sentence
  • Phrases and clauses
  • Classic sentence diagramming
  • Rules of punctuation and capitalization
  • Common usage error.

During class, students read, highlight, and annotate the notes section of a unit and work together through many examples in the accompanying exercises. Parsing and diagramming sentences provides a more visual layer to each aspect under study. At home during the week students focus on the skills and concepts addressed in that lesson, building on those learned in the previous units. This class is worth 1 high school language arts credit.

The cost of the class is $90 per 6-week session, plus one-time $10 usage fee due with the first payment. Please see the attachments for complete details, required purchases, and payment info.
