Event Details
In this exciting and unique class, students will go beyond traditional art projects as they carve, sew and stamp unique and functional works of art. Course goals include strengthening fine-motor skills, learning new crafting techniques, and exploring a variety of arts and crafts materials. Each student will have an opportunity to display their competed projects at an end-of-semester craft fair. Our tentative schedule is:
Week 1: tangling (pen and ink art)
Week 2: tangling
Week 3: weaving/ cording
Week 4: beginning needle work
Week 5: beginning needle work
Week 6: Carving
Week 7: Carving/ stamping
Week 8: Sewing
Week 9: Sewing
Week 10: Hand sewing/ Book binding
Week 11: Hand sewing/ Book binding
Week 12: Finishing touches
The cost of the class is $110 for the semester. Students will need to supply their own fine-tip Sharpie markers (2); ultra-fine Sharpie markers (2), and Bastex 5 in 1 Linoleum cutter tool ($8.99 on Amazon).
